A brief power outage at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi disrupted boarding and check-in facilities, causing inconvenience for passengers. The incident took place at the T3 terminal, where systems like Digi Yatra and check-in counters were non-functional.
Passengers described the terminal as “choked” due to the outage, with no services available. One user on X reported, “T3 terminal #delhi #airport totally choked due to power failure! No counter, no Digi Yatra, nothing functioning. This is shocking.”
The Delhi airport authorities responded to the feedback, assuring that the issue was noted and shared with the concerned team for further investigation.
An airport official explained that the outage lasted for about two to three minutes. During this time, the power shifted to backup, and critical processes such as baggage loading, Digi Yatra, and air-conditioning systems rebooted. The official also mentioned that the high air-conditioning load caused a slight delay in returning to full power, but systems were operational shortly after.
Importantly, the outage did not impact flight operations.
