In a recent development, the Calcutta High Court has directed Dr. Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, to take an extended leave. This decision follows the tragic rape and murder of a doctor on the hospital’s campus.
Dr. Ghosh, who resigned from his position, was subsequently appointed as the principal of Calcutta National Medical College (CNMC) within hours of his resignation. The High Court has also demanded the case diary by 1 PM in connection with the ongoing investigation into the RG Kar rape and murder case. The victim was reportedly throttled and smothered to death, leading to widespread outrage and calls for justice.
