Microsoft has announced that a recent global IT outage is affecting millions of Windows users, causing Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) errors, which result in sudden system shutdowns or restarts. The company identified that the issue stems from a recent update by cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike.
The outage initially impacted a subset of Microsoft’s customers in the Central US region, disrupting multiple Azure services. Azure, Microsoft’s cloud computing platform, provides services for building, deploying, and managing applications and services.
In addition to the Azure issues, Microsoft is also investigating problems affecting various Microsoft 365 apps and services. CEO Satya Nadella confirmed that the company is working closely with CrowdStrike to resolve these issues swiftly.
