In a recent event in Chennai, former Indian cricketer and five-time IPL title-winning captain of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), MS Dhoni, shared his preference for Instagram over Twitter. The video, posted on Dubai Eye 103.8’s YouTube channel, reveals Dhoni’s minimal presence on social media, especially on Twitter.
“I prefer Instagram over Twitter,” Dhoni said. He explained that Twitter often leads to controversies, particularly in India. “Nothing good has happened over Twitter. Somebody writes something, and it turns into a controversy. With Twitter’s character limit, it’s easy for messages to be misinterpreted.”
Dhoni also mentioned his limited use of Instagram, valuing fewer distractions in life. “Instagram allows me to post a picture or video and leave it. Although it’s changing, I still prefer it. I’m not very active because I feel fewer distractions are better. Occasionally, I’ll post something for the fans to show that I’m in a good place.”
Fans have responded positively, appreciating his humble and down-to-earth attitude.
Despite undergoing knee surgery last year, Dhoni played 14 matches this season, scoring 161 runs at an average of 53.67 and a strike rate of 220.55. As he contemplates his IPL future, Dhoni continues to be a guiding force for his team and fans.
