Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, postponed his trip to India where he was set to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The trip was expected to involve discussions about Tesla’s plans to invest in building a factory in India, potentially worth billions of dollars. Musk had previously met PM Modi during the latter’s visit to the US in June. The visit was anticipated to boost Tesla’s entry into the Indian market and also support Musk’s other project, Starlink, which aims to provide satellite internet services in India. Experts see Starlink’s operations in India as a strengthening of the security partnership between India and the US. India’s recent easing of foreign direct investment rules for the space sector further facilitated such collaborations.
